The 28-year-old was lucky to land a controversial 2017 draw and a tight 2018 win over GGG at middleweight.
And he insists he will shrink back down to the 11st 6 division to try to earn a final conclusive win over the Kazakh KO specialist.
Canelo said: “I never like to get overconfident, whether I am the favourite or not.
“It is no secret we want to win this fight and then come back to our 160lbs division.

“Right now, I am 100 percent focused on Fielding.
“What I do know is I will fight in May and September next year.
“What I will do is give great fights to the public.”

Fielding, 31, has an encouraging height advantage but is a huge underdog going into the battle.
But he is leaning on his shock July title win in Germany for more inspiration to prove his many doubters wrong.
He said: “I went to Germany and no one gave me a chance there. It’s the same here.
“No one gives me a chance here, but I’ve prepared well, I believe in myself. I’ve come here as a champion.”
